Simple solutions for self-employed

At Family Building Society, we assess self-employed applicants on their individual merits, taking a sensible view on their income and trading history.

• For Limited Companies, if applicants have over a 33% financial stake, we may consider their share of net profit and salary from recent years instead of dividends
• The most recent SA302 or HMRC Self Assessment Return can be used, showing:
  • Tax calculation (self-reported income and tax due)
  • Tax year overview (total tax due and paid)
• Alternatively, the latest audited accounts by a Certified or Chartered Accountant may be accepted
• An accountant's reference or other supporting information may also be required.
  

We’ll also consider unusual trading years, business investment, or pension contributions when withdrawing from the business.
