Repayment Mortgages - What makes us different?

21 Jun 2019

It won't be news to you to hear that a repayment mortgage is the most popular and most widely available mortgage repayment option. But did you know, with our repayment mortgages we offer the following features:

  • Maximum age of 95 at the end of term.

  • Maximum 40 year term.

  • Pay rate rather than stress rate for our 5 year fixed rate products - when assessing affordability for a 5 year fixed rate mortgage, we can stress test affordability at pay rate. This gives more flexibility to how much your clients can borrow. Compare our Owner Occupier product range to find out more.

  • A range of income streams accepted – earned, self employed, pension, investment and rental income are all acceptable sources of income for affordability purposes. We also allow a combination of these.

Our approach means that you can get creative with solutions for your clients. For example:

  • Joint Mortgage Sole Owner (JMSO) arrangement - with our JMSO arrangement we can lend over a term which takes non-occupying family members up to age 95. This can make the monthly payments much more affordable for the occupying borrower(s). So, if a parent is 60 and has a retirement income that we can evidence, then we can offer their offspring a 35 year term.
