Help first time buyers get onto the property ladder

13 Mar 2020

We have a range of mortgage options and solutions available to support first time buyers. Where other lenders won't or can't help, we take a personal approach to lending taking individual circumstances into consideration.

OUR AWARD WINNING FAMILY MORTGAGE

Offers enhanced affordability enabling family members to combine their wider assets as security to help the borrower benefit from a competitive rate when faced with a 95% mortgage.

Our Family Mortgages are currently at a fixed interest rate for:

  • 3 years at 2.84%
  • 5 years at 2.89%

Family members can use one or more of the following ways to help provide security for the borrower's mortgage:

  • Deposit savings into our Family Security Account which earns interest
  • Secure a charge over some of the value of their property
  • Deposit savings into our Family Offset Account which will reduce the amount of the mortgage on which interest is charged.

The borrower can also benefit from six month unemployment cover at no extra cost (subject to conditions).

JOINT MORTGAGE SOLE OWNER

Allows family members to support each other with affordability when applying for a mortgage.

This arrangement:

  • Enables one or two borrowers (who will own and occupy the property) and up to two other family members to support the borrower(s) by using up to four incomes for affordability. Supporting family members will be listed on the mortgage but will not own the property.
  • Can be used on any of our standard products except our Family Mortgage
  • Allows 80% maximum LTV for Owner Occupiers.

GUARANTOR MORTGAGES

  • Designed to help the borrower(s) parents' and/or family members help with affordability. As long as the family can afford their own expenses and commitments, as well as the mortgage with us, we may consider a higher loan amount than we might otherwise without the family member's guarantee.
  • This can be used on any of our Owner Occupier products except our Family Mortgage.
