When it comes to your self employed clients, the question of income is always top of the agenda. Finding a lender that takes a sensible view on income and trading history can be the difference between securing a mortgage or not.

At Family Building Society our underwriters look for reasons to accept applications and they assess each application on its merits. We believe this flexible approach means we may be able to offer your clients a mortgage, when other high street lenders may simply say no, just because their 'story' is complicated.

Income we may consider includes;
  • Share of Profit after tax (Directors with shareholding of 33%+)
  • Most recent years accounts (prepared by a Certified or Chartered Accountant)
  • Most recent SA302 or online HMRC Self Assessment Return
